Scanning Turnkey’s official magazine I noticed a few interesting things…

Most of all I really liked…

I’d always thought that my KORG microKONTROL MIDI controller was the best implemented compact unit on the market… and at current price of £155 new from Turnkey I still think nothing comes close for the money… but the Novation ReMOTE SL series look great… and with their Automap Universal standard feature – instant communication with most sequencers… and now with VST plug-ins too… I think this is a must. I can envisage it having a big impact on productivity working with Nuendo and that’s got to be a good thing… the ReMOTE 25 SL is £289 new from Turnkey… looking on ebay now… new US $299.99 + $80 shipping… drool…

    Since my discovery of this latest Novation MIDI controller I’ve been keeping an eye out on eBay using GarageBuy

    … looking for something on eBay but tired of eBay’s slow web site? … Now you can use a slick, full-featured client application for all of your search and purchasing on eBay.

    and I found a B-stock unit – ‘refurbished or utilised for demonstration purposes’ – for ~£180 including delivery from these very nice people. I snapped it up and it arrived the next day looking immaculate. I’m just plugging it in now… woohoo…

    Anyone want a KORG microKONTROL and/or Evolution UC-33?

    Soft-synths updates…

    I’ve been trying to download versions of the following for testing/update, but I’ve not been having much luck:

    Arturia – home to the V series of analogue soft-synths including the Moog Modular, CS-80, Minimoog, ARP2600, Prophet and Jupiter-8.

    Analog Factory – a good starting point – rather than installing everything straight off – the demo limited to 137 sounds shows promise…

    Analog Factory is a powerful, yet extremely easy to use virtual instrument. Loaded with 2000 legendary sounds carefully selected from the Arturia Classic Synths.

    Brass – I’ve been looking for a really good brass section for ages… this might just be it… but I just can’t find a working version
